In this project, students were challenged to create an experimental typographic poster based on the combination of two words chosen from a list.
“Eidetic” + “Chaos” describes the ability to recall a chaotic and/or dream-like memory whilst iin a state of confusion, which may or may not be a mere hallucination.
“Eidetic” is a trigger of one of the five human senses of sight, touch, smell, hearing, and taste that can cause an individual to recall a specific memory with clarity. “Chaos” is described by a lack of proper order and structure.

Process Work
The distorted words were organically created by printing out the word, “HALLUCINATIONS” and integrated back into the digital design by moving the printed word whilst the printer was currently in the process of scanning. Rather than solely relying on the chaotic composition to convey the meaning of “Eidetic Chaos,” negative space was added to incorporate a vibrant contrasting colour scheme that is memorable to the viewer.
